WOW! What blessings have poured forth from this church my way! I haven’t spent a night in the hospital since I was in college and had my appendix removed. That’s changed.
Our plans for the Habitat 500 came to an abrupt halt 3 days before we were to leave for MN. In the process of getting a complete physical prior to the ride, my doc wanted me to have a second look at an EKG. Everything else looked normal. We had prepared for the ride, biking close to 500 miles in training and we were ready to go.
On Tuesday, July 6, I had a Heart Cath that revealed a 90% blockage in my left coronary artery. Needless to say, we weren’t going biking in MN, and not 500 miles for sure. After getting a second opinion from Michigan Heart Specialists and being advised to get a stent, I agreed. I had that procedure done on Friday, Aug. 13th, (my lucky day), at St. Joseph Hospital, after which I was their guest for the night.
During all this time, I was encouraged, prayed for, cared for, and nurtured through a procedure that has been a blessing to my health and well- being. This has also given me the opportunity to advocate for preventive health practice and getting good check ups.
Thank you my dear friends in Christ! What a blessing to experience the depth of your care!!
I feel great! And we are back on the bikes.
